Tarangire National park: Tarangire's public campsite is just a short drive into the park slightly off the main safari route 5km from the main park gate near the northwestern tip. Ngorongoro Conservation Area: Simba Campsite “A” which is public campsite is on the crater rim and it is situated on the south-western rim of the Ngorongoro Crater Rim about 2 km from the crater village. It has well-maintained toilets, regularly attended hot water showers (heated by wood fires) and firewood for sale. Because it can be crowded especially during high season the hot water sometimes runs out. Even so, it's a fine location and by far the cheapest place to stay up on the rim.
